Her Spirit Creates started with a belief: that creativity is not a hobby.

It's a practice.

And for people who feel that pull — toward making, toward meaning, toward something that can't quite be named — it's more like a necessity. At least for Marianne it has been.

Founder Marianne Mullen has spent 25+ years as a facilitator, coach, and organizational development professional. And the work that has always lived closest to her is the intersection of art, spirit, and honest (and authentic) community.

At its core, Her Spirit Creates is built on three things:

Art as a vehicle for self development.

Not art as decoration or performance — art as a way of knowing yourself. Every creation you make tells you something. Every choice you make with color, texture, and image is a kind of listening.

Spirit as the center, not a specific religion or doctrine.

Whatever your spiritual framework — traditional religion, interfaith practice, a personal sense of something larger — Her Spirit Creates holds space for it. This work isn’t church-y. It's not a therapy practice. It's a creative space where your inner life is welcome.

Community as the circle.

Creative work deepens when you practice with others. The people you make alongside — your creative community — hold up a mirror in ways you can't find alone. And its just fun.

HSC offers mixed media art workshops, one-on-one creative coaching, and programming for groups, private events and venues across Vermont and beyond.
